Accommodation etc

Hunting camps in South African are of good, to high standard and by law, must be approved by the individual provincial Departments of Environmental Affairs and Tourism. Some of these establishments are apart from this, also graded by the National Grading Council. Hot and cold running water, en-suite bathrooms/ bedrooms with 220V electricity are the norm. Daily laundry is offered. These camps are normally quite scenic and mostly situated within the area that is hunted.

In Namibia the owners have furnished a separate building adjacent to the main farmhouse, accommodating three hunters, sharing ablutions with hot and cold water and flushing toilet.

The coutadas in Mozambique have A-frame palm frond and grass type bungalows, each with own en-suite bathroom facilities and a central social are, called "boma, or lapa" where meals are served and we gather around the campfire. Due to the large areas we hunt, we sometimes need to overnight in so called "spike camps" away from main camp,(small bivvy type tents, light mattress and sleeping bag) when in hot pusuit on the trail of a looked for specie, as it is too far returning to camp.
