Trout – River fishing is offered at some of the highest quality venues for trout in the whole of South Africa. These areas are situated in the northeastern part of the Eastern Cape in the picturesque southern Drakensberg with water coming from mountains over 2 400 meters (8 000 feet) high. Roughly 160 kilometers (100 miles) of not less than 11 rivers in this specific area frequently offer rainbow trout of 4.5lbs on average and sometimes up to nearly 9lbs Apart from rivers and streams South Africa offers a large number of different venues and areas i.e. Clarens, Dullstroom etc., virtually all syndicated, dotted all over the country for stillwater trout fishing. Tiger fish - South Africa - in the third largest lake of the country, the Pongolapoort Lake, situated in the northeastern part of the Kwa-Zulu Natal province and being fed by the Crocodile and Komati rivers. The lake covers nearly 40 000 acres (16 000 hectares), is about 17 miles (30 km) long and 4.5 miles (7 kilometers) Namibia – freshwater fishing takes place on the mighty Zambezi River in the northeastern Caprivi province close to the town of Katima Mulilo with Botswana’s Chobe National Park and Zimbabwe ’s world famous Victoria Falls within close proximity. Package trips from the lodge to the parks can be arranged. Present lodge record for tiger is an impressive 22lbs (10 kg). Apart from tiger fish, some 80 other fish species inhabit the Zambezi. The bream (tilapia) fishing especially is worth mentioning and compares favorably with tiger fish.
Saltwater, beach fishing takes place on the Skeleton coast, to the south and north of the coastal town of Henties Bay.
