Saltwater ocean fishing

The Southern African coastline offers tremendous variety and scope. From the sub-tropical waters off Mozambique’s east coast, around South Africa and northwards, up into the cold waters of the Atlantic, off Namibia’s west coast, there is a very wide variety of fish and fishing conditions. There obviously are two ways in enjoying it, from the beach and from a boat. Beach angling at the right place and conditions can be very challenging, exciting, fulfilling and just as productive as from a boat.

There is a mind boggling array of fish species available; From the Mozambican east coast’s tropical and sub-tropical waters, species include: sailfish, black and striped marlin, bonefish, king mackerel, queen mackerel, yellowfin tune, skipjack tuna, bonito, dorado, wahoo, kawakawa, and kingfish.

In the southern and colder waters off the South African coast kob, red steenbras, elf, garrick and Cape snoek occur.

Namibia’s best are kob, steenbras, blacktail, galjoen and the bronze whaler shark
